Apply: AfDB Finance and Training Consultancy

The Statistics Department (ECST) of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has advertised a request for expressions of interest for a Finance and Training Coordinator consultancy. The goal of the ECST is to position the institution as the leader and partner of choice for statistical development work in Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Closely monitor the division’s budgets to ensure the funds are appropriately utilised,
    and assist in the budget preparation process
  • Ensure that all financial and administrative transactions are carried out according to
    AfDB requirements
  • Serve as the principal liaison between ECST1 and the Disbursement division
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for training workshops and other large-scale events
    conducted by the division
  • Produce articles for various mediums (intranet, newsletters, etc.) that showcase the
    outcomes of the training workshops and other work of the division
  • Fulfill any other duties as requested by the Division Manager or Director

 

Requirements

  • At least a master’s or postgraduate degree in a Finance or an economic discipline
  • Five years of relevant professional experience, minimum
  • Competence in the use of standard software, Microsoft Office packages and finance packages used in the AfDB (essential)
  • Knowledge of SAP software (desirable)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, with a good working knowledge of
    French
  • Ability to write reports and complete tasks on a timely basis
  • Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills in liaising with colleagues
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and, in specific areas, with a considerable
    degree of independence
  • Experience of working in a developing country environment, preferably in Africa
