The Gambia: AF Donates Food to Needy Communities

Ansarudeen Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports needy people and families within communities in The Gambia, in partnership with Jamiyatul Nasrul Fayda, has donated food aid to 41 families.

Development Diaries gathered that the items that were donated included bags of rice and sugar, cooking oil, and onion.

The President of Ansarudeen, Amadou Sillah, said that the organisations distributed food aid to the less-fortunate population struggling to survive the hardship caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sillah added that they hope that the donation will make a positive impact on the communities during this difficult period as so many The Gambians have lost their jobs.

One of the founders of the Ansarudeen Foundation, Ebrima Cham, who is based in the UK, said that they find it necessary to support their fellow Gambians, adding that it was important for people to stand together and support each other.

A beneficiary, Dodou Bittaye, thanked the foundation for their kind gesture, saying that the gesture will greatly impact their lives.
