Participate: CentreLSD YAD Leadership Contest

The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (CentreLSD) has opened applications for the first set of its Young Ambassadors for Development (YAD) Leadership Training contest.

Africa’s most populous nation appears to be in deficit in the area of quality leadership and without quality leadership the future appears bleak as everything rises and falls on leadership.

Therefore, CentreLSD, a non-governmental and non-profit organisation with focus in leadership, strategy and development, seeks to identify and select 15 youths for training on the kind of leadership Nigeria needs for its future.


  • Selected presentations will be promoted on the CentreLSD website/social media platforms
  • Participants will be taken on an excursion to the National Assembly
  • Participants will also have an interactive session with the Chief of Staff to the Deputy President of the Senate
  • Best performing participants will win prizes


  • Applicants (male and female students) must be between the ages of ten and 16
  • Applicants must be secondary school students
  • Applicant must send an oral video presentation (poem, essay or spoken word) of not more than one minute that identifies the problems of Nigeria with possible solutions
  • The presentation should be an original content written and presented by the applicant
  • Applicants must provide contacts of parents or guardians
