The Financial Times and the Bodley Head have announced a call for submission of entries for the Bodley Head/FT Essay Prize competition 2020.

The competition, according to the organisers, has been the springboard for many exciting writers.

Benefits

  • The winner will receive £1,000
  • Two runners-up will win £300 cash each
  • Publication by the Financial Times in an FT publication
  • E-publication by the promoter of the winner’s winning entry; e-publication by the promoter of the two runners-up entries
  • One mentoring session for winner with a member of the promoter’s editorial staff

Eligibility

  • This competition is open to anyone aged between 18 and 35 as at 24 September, 2020
  • An original work of which the entrant is the author and which has not been previously published in any language
  • Entry must not be more than 3,500 words on any subject matter
