Enter: OHCHR Fourth Human Rights Youth Challenge

Deadline: 31 May, 2021

UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has announced a call for participation in the Fourth Human Rights Youth Challenge.

This year, the challenge will focus on climate change and the human rights to water and sanitation.

The water and sanitation sector is in need of new ideas on how to raise awareness that access to water and sanitation are human rights.

Youths, with their creativity and different ways of thinking and expressing, can contribute to bringing innovation to this sector and advancing a much needed paradigm shift from the traditional focus on infrastructure, technology and finance to one with people at the centre.

Therefore, youths are invited to produce and submit a two-to-three minute video on the ‘impact of climate change on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation’.

Benefits

  • The UN Special Rapporteur will invite the winner to join him to speak at a Human Rights Council side event
