The World Health Organisation (WHO) is recruiting to fill the position of Partnerships Officer
The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.
Responsibilities
- Manage and refine the specific OSL partnerships strategy, including, but not limited to, segmenting appropriate partners for OSL’s specific needs, compiling list of potential partners across multiple sectors, and conducting extensive due diligence on prospective partners
- Develop, manage and refine policy and advocacy initiatives related to the development of the OSL Network to establish
- Collaborate with the OSL team and the health emergency programme, manage and refine the framework and strategy to explore new initiatives and innovative models related to potential new funding sources, new business models, new partnership models, new products and applications, and new technologies
- Collaborate with the OSL team and health emergency programme, manage and refine the network mechanisms and organise functions to position OSL as the network leader, which may include establishing management and steering committees, sector-based advisory committees, open-based membership criteria, and any other mechanism deemed appropriate to build the operational features of the supply chain and logistical network
- Initiate and negotiate partnership agreements, which include defining Terms of References, establishing specific roles and responsibilities, mobilising and allocating resources, and developing robust monitoring and evaluation guidelines, to grow the network and number of partnerships involved in the OSL business model
- Manage and refine the coordination strategies and mechanisms with other WHO partnership efforts to ensure a cohesive emergency response capacity across the three levels of WHO and its emergency response platform
Requirements
- University degree (master’s or above) in Business Management or a related field
- Seven years, minimum, of experience in or combination of business development, strategic development and finance
- Experience in developmental, public and private sectors, logistical operations, humanitarian response operations, or related areas
- Experience working with the WHO and other UN agencies (desirable)
- Project management experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical and drafting skills, financial management skills, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and flexibly
- Expert knowledge of English language
- Knowledge of French
- Knowledge of WHO language
