The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Social Media Associate.

WFP works to ensure the most vulnerable populations, especially women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance WFP’s online presence across a variety of social media platforms
  • Create compelling content, including video, for social media platforms
  • Write, edit, and produce content for the regional and global social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in both English and Arabic
  • Handle the dissemination of the content and manage the content calendars
  • Monitor global social media trends and tools
  • Support in the implementation of the global and regional social media strategies and content plans
  • Focus on areas like customer engagement, brand management, and organisational communications
  • Work on global and regional campaigns
  • Extract reports from and manage social media metric tools
  • Put systems in place to record, measure, and analyse social media metrics from WFP’s social media channels
  • Report on all metrics and data related to social media, providing metrics and reports on regular basis and when requested
  • Track all the social media data on a day-to-day basis, including channel growth and performance of posts
  • Ensure qualitative analysis of social media data, providing actionable insights and making recommendations to the team
  • Work with the social media team to provide actionable insights and make recommendations to the team
  • Implement strategies to encourage engagement and grow WFP’s communities
  • Monitor and participate in relevant conversations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, or a related field
  • Four years, minimum, of experience in handling/managing social media channels
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic
