The World Food Programme (WFP) is  seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Monitoring and Evaluation Associate.

WFP works worldwide to ensure no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.

Responsibilities
  • Perform specialised and/or standardised processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines
  • Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing project and context specific monitoring plans that are risk-based and focus on measuring results
  • Assist in the revision of monitoring and evaluation processes and tools in consultation with relevant technical units
  • Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports (programme status and performance) in order to support operational decision making
  • Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work, following corporate standards and guidelines
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities
  • Review and provide comments to new projects and budget revisions during local project review committee meetings as appropriate to ensure acceptable indicators are selected for the log-frames, output and outcome targets are appropriate, and quality monitoring and evaluation systems are documented
  • Ensure minimum monitoring and evaluation standards and requirements for WFP operations are identified in project documents
  • Support analysis of monitoring and evaluation data and provide feedback for improving results reporting
  • Ensure output and outcome indicators are reviewed periodically and modified based on measurement trends and feedback

Requirements

  • University degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Economics, Performance Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related field
  • Two years, minimum, of relevant experience in a field related to programme and policy, and programme/project support in a humanitarian context
  • Experience with the United Nations is a plus
  • Fluency (level C) in English language
  • Nationality of Namibia
