UN Women is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Programme Analyst (Gender, Forced Migration and Trafficking).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation of programme strategies and activities focusing on achievement of the following results
  • Gender-responsive analysis and research of status and emerging trends related to forced migration and trafficking in the target states, and preparation of substantive inputs to inform programme strategies
  • Substantive contributions made to inform policy briefs and policy dialogues
  • Effective programme implementation and management arrangements
  • Preparation of analytical and periodic progress reports
  • Ensure effective management of the programme in the field within the thematic/sectoral areas assigned, focusing on quality control of the programme activities and achieving the following results:
  • Effective application of RBM tools, performance indicators and monitoring achievement of results
  • Development of annual programme work plan and budget and management of their implementation
  • Coordination of programme implementation with the responsible partners, including facilitation of technical and capacity-building support to implementing partners
  • Contribution to inter-agency coordination processes to advance programme implementation
  • Financial and substantive monitoring and evaluation of the programme partners’ activities, identification of operational and financial problems, development of solutions

Requirements

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Human Rights, Gender Studies, Women’s Studies, International Development, or a related field
  • Project/programme management certification would be an added advantage
  • Three years (with master’s degree) or five years (with bachelor’s degree), minimum, of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects
  • Technical experience on migration and human trafficking
  • Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is an asset
  • Experience working in the UN System is an asset
  • Experience in leading/managing a team is an asset
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Knowledge of Hausa language is an advantage
