Save the Children International has opened applications for the role of Education Community Mobiliser.
The organisation works to ensure children around the world get health care, food and shelter as well as learning and child protection services.
Responsibilities
- Ensure stakeholders are mobilised and informed about a planned meeting, training and event
- Where applicable, depending on the time limit, support the project officers in following up and ensuring that the teaching timetable is in place and is being adhered to
- Ensure that the teacher-pupil ratio is meeting the minimum requirements
- As designated by the education coordinator, lead mobilisation campaigns
- Develop individual work plans, write and timely submit quality reports at different reporting intervals
- Together with education officers and teacher trainer, support PTA/SMC and headteachers in developing school improvement and development plans
- Support in target distribution of school supplies
- Collect education data from schools on weekly basis
Requirements
- Experience in leading community mobilisation and implementation of education-awareness meetings
- Extensive experience of building personal internal and external networks
- Experience and ability to plan and undertake education training session/workshops
- Ability to liaise and provide clear community engagement strategies
- Strong communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills
- Ability to provide remote support and establish supportive relationships and networks
- Ability to travel and work within challenging environments
- Experience in South Sudan
- Evidence of professional expertise, personal development and learning in the area of community mobilisation and engagement
- Travel experience in challenging environments
- Knowledge of local context, including Maban language and Arabic
