Plan International is seeking to fill the post of Finance Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare salary-related journals for cost recovery purposes
  • Timely process payroll-related payments
  • Manage international payroll including LSW and reconcile every month
  • Back up HR national payroll process and ensure all related payments are timely made
  • Carry out oversight of finance-related transactions in programme areas and Sofala office, including checking of internal control
  • Work closely with senior finance country accountant to develop and roll out oversight management tools to assist ERM, PAM and other managers to effectively monitor budget management
  • Review completeness of payment requests and advance liquidations for budget availability and correct coding
  • Work with regional office and IH to ensure international payments are made on time
  • Reconcile balance sheet account reconciliation and ensure completeness
  • Manage staff advances and ensure timely liquidation as per policy
  • Manage intercompany recharges and reconcile account on weekly basis

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Five years of experience in a similar role with an NGO
  • Strong experience in working with donor-funded projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work well with others to meet deadline and respond to changes in priorities
  • Ability to interpret and work in accordance with procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications, e.g., Microsoft Office and Internet
