The U.S. Department of State has announced a call for applications for the 2023 Mandela Washington Fellowship.
The fellowship is designed to build skills and empower fellows to lead in their respective sectors and communities.
Benefits

Eligibility
- Applicant must be between the ages of 25 and 35 on or before the application deadline, although exceptional applicants ages 21 to 24 will be considered
- Applicant must not be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the country
- Applicant must be eligible to receive a United States J-1 visa
- Applicant must not be employees or immediate family members of employees of the U.S. government (including a U.S. embassy or consulate, USAID, or other U.S. government entity)
- Applicant must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Applicant must be a citizen of a sub-Saharan country
- Applicant must not be alumni of the Mandela Washington Fellowship
