The Brenthurst Foundation has announced a call for applications for the Machel-Mandela Fellowship Programme.

An internship in honor of former South African president, Nelson Mandela, and his wife, Graca Machel, the programme aims to nature Africa’s future leaders.

Benefits

  • Monthly stipend
  • If required, accommodation (subject to Foundation policy) will be provided
  • Other work-related expenses may also be covered subject to agreement with foundation

Eligibility   

  • Be under 30 years of age
  • Hold master’s degree
  • Be able to speak and write in English language (African and other languages will be an asset)
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be enthusiastic and reliable
  • Be able to balance deadlines and attention to detail
  • Have basic I.T. skills
  • Copy editing and proofreading skills will be an asset
  • Have passion for Africa and a keen interest in new thinking and strategies to strengthen Africa’s economy
  • Have broad knowledge of African politics and economics
