Apply: Jamlab Media Innovation Reporting Grants

The Journalism and Media Lab (Jamlab) has opened applications for the 2022–2023 Media Innovation Reporting Grants.

This grant is designed to aid journalists during their discovery, development and creation of written work on ideas where others are seen to be innovators.

Journalists are encouraged to submit proposals that focus on enabling innovators, journalists and media professionals to find the information they need to help them innovate.

Benefits

  • Successful applicants will receive ZAR20,000 each for in-depth reporting on subjects surrounding journalism and media innovations and innovators in Africa

Eligibility

  • Open to committed and creative journalists and media makers who are passionate about fixing what is not working in sub-Saharan African media
  • Startups that want to create innovative products or services to serve new audiences or bring new conversations or ideas to the public can apply
  • Applications from all countries across sub-Saharan Africa, particularly those in Benin Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Zambia, are welcome
