The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking to fill the position of Human Resource Manager.
IRC is a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development non-governmental organisation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of IRC personnel policies and implement IRC’s new Global HR Operating Policies and Procedures in every site of the field office
- Participate in reviewing national staff policies and recommend changes to the HR/admin coordinator
- Ensure the provision of good quality, appropriate and clearly communicated advice to field line managers on all aspects of HR management, policy and practice, including work force planning, job design, employment law, employee relations issues, and communication and consultation strategies
- Work with the field coordinator and HR/admin coordinator to implement strategic planning of the department
- Provide advice and support to field HR teams, all field employees and managers in interpretation of HR policies and procedures and provide technical support on HR-related matters including, but not limited to, recruitment, orientation, career development, performance evaluation, disciplinary action and separation
Requirements
- Master or bachelor’s degree in Management, Human Resources Management, Public Administration, or a related field
- Three years of relevant experience for master’s degree holders or four years of relevant experience for bachelor’s degree holders
- HR experience with a non-governmental organisation (NGO)
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent representational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
- Fluency in Somali and English languages advantageous
