Apply: INTERSOS Project Protection Manager

INTERSOS is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Project Protection Manager.

INTERSOS is a non-profit humanitarian aid organisation that works to assist victims of natural disaster and armed conflict.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage the INTERSOS project, logistically and financially, in collaboration with the managers of each department concerned
  • Ensure the planning of project activities in the intervention area in close collaboration with the INTERSOS coordination in Yaoundé
  • Ensure the management of human resources by supervising the process of recruiting and installing new staff
  • Ensure the drafting of narrative activity reports and any other monitoring document according to the given deadlines and according to the requirements of the lessor
  • Ensure the drafting of weekly and monthly reports (PAT) internal to INTERSOS
  • Ensure the regular supervision of purchasing and supply operations in accordance with the procurement plan, in accordance with the donor and INTERSOS procedures, in close collaboration with the project logistician
  • Supervise all logistical and organisational aspects, ensuring all structures foreseen by the project are in place and efficient
  • Ensure all economic, monetary and administrative aspects are taken care of according to the rules and INTERSOS standard
  • Supervise the agronomist expert and other specialists in the design and implementation of the training plan aimed at strengthening the capacity of INTERSOS staff and partner
  • Ensure humanitarian principles are followed and respected throughout the programme
  • Ensure active participation in protection working groups in order to establish strategic relationships with members of working groups, local authorities and agencies/organisations working in the far north
  • Ensure documentation of project methodologies, lessons learnt, and collect case studies
  • Regular updating of the list of contacts (authorities, civil society, NGOs and beneficiaries) and actively participate in its development
  • Actively participate in carrying out evaluations and designing new projects to meet the needs of the population affected by the crisis

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Education and Training Science, Law, Political Science, Social Sciences, Psychology, Humanities, or a related field
  • Two years, minimum, of significant experience abroad in similar positions or in the humanitarian sector
  • Significant professional experience in the field of protection in emergency situations
  • Experience in the supervision of activities and project management
  • In-depth knowledge of international industry guidelines and standards
  • Experience in working with refugees and IDPs
  • Experience in Cameroon is an asset
