The International Labour Organisation (ILO) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Economist.
The mission of the ILO is to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the econometric and statistical analyses related to the different revisions of the ILO modelled estimates database
- Assist in the development of econometric routines underlying the ILO modelled estimates database, in order to improve and enlarge this database with new indicators
- Contribute towards the preparation and analysis of country level employment and labour market data, including through monitoring of labour market dynamics and policy developments at the country and regional levels
- Contribute to the preparation and production of analytical reports, including the WESO Trends
- Contribute towards drafting documents of relevance such as research briefs, academic papers and other research reports
Requirements
- First university degree in Economics
- Advanced university degree with specialisation in either Development or Labour Economics (desirable)
- Two years of experience at either national or international level
- Experience with quantitative data management and econometric analysis
- Experience in drafting research reports
- Excellent command of English
- Working knowledge of a second official language (French or Spanish) of the organisation will be an asset
