FRIDA is seeking to fill the position of Programme Co-Manager.

The youth-led organisation is focused on supporting young feminist activism to advance social justice movements and agendas across the world.

Responsibilities 

  • Co-manage the programmes team at FRIDA
  • Provide overall direction for the team alongside the co-manager for capacity strengthening and the chief of programmes
  • Adhere to existing programmes policies and strategies, and develop and update them as needed
  • Ensure programmes team is meeting its goals and fulfilling organisational priorities
  • Co-lead in developing and monitoring the programmes’ budget, with the oversight and support of the programmes chief/co-executive director
  • Supervise programmes consultants and staff at the senior officer, officer and associate levels
  • Participate actively in strategic thinking and planning for the organisation, working closely with other managers
  • Strengthen and promote cross-team collaboration at FRIDA, linking with all other sub-team staff for the advancement of programmes and organisation goals
  • Approve expenses up to a certain amount, per FRIDA’s finance policies and as aligned to the overall annual budget
  • Carry out additional responsibilities

Requirements 

  • Three years, minimum, of experience in planning, implementing and managing grantmaking programmes or projects related to feminist and/or youth activism
  • Experience in supervision, designing and creating programmes, risk management, programme and/or project management
  • Two years, minimum, of financial planning and budgeting experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an excellent command of the English language
  • Can work independently and lead participatory decision-making and consultation processes
  • Exercise independent judgment over a broad area of functional responsibilities
  • Knowledge about women’s human rights, feminist issues, advocacy and/or donor environment around women’s rights at the regional and/or international level
  • Experience in working with young feminist organisations, particularly in the Global South
  • Commitment to collaboration and strong social skills, with ability to work efficiently under pressure both independently and as a team member
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking, problem-solving and planning skills
  • Ability to work remotely in a virtual office with little supervision and able to meet deadlines comfortably
  • Knowledge and/or experience with participatory models of organising
  • Experience in grantmaking systems and processes
  • University degree or related experience in women’s human rights, international development, community development, gender, social sciences or a related field is an asset
  • Fluency in an additional language(s) (Spanish, French, Russian, Portuguese and/or Arabic is preferred)
  • Experience in data collection and analysis, and basic research skills
