The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of Participatory   Governance Coordinator.

FHI 360 builds local capacity for the delivery of sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the governance specialist in accelerating economic growth through the participation and empowerment of rural people, women, youth and people with disabilities
  • Help to strengthen the institutional performance and effectiveness of local governments
  • Strengthen the participation in governance of civil society organisations and their advocacy on behalf of women, youth and people with disabilities
  • Contribute to improving the transparency of local government institutions in order to help civil society organisations obtain better access to information
  • Help improve governance related to business and economic ecosystems
  • Work with the NGO AIDECA for the implementation of initiatives at the community level
  • Assist in organising training workshops for participatory governance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, International Relations, or a similar field
  • Five years, minimum, of experience in the field of economic development, promotion of participatory governance and/or other similar areas
  • Excellent knowledge of Moroccan systems of governance at the local level
  • Preferred experience with USAID or other donors
  • Experience in working with community organisations and the promotion of women and youth and people with disabilities preferred
  • Understanding (writing and speaking) of French and Arabic, and a good knowledge of English
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
