The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of Senior Technical Officer.

FHI 360 delivers sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, adaptation, development, planning, and implementation of innovative technical strategies in collaboration with consortium partners
  • Lead and manage a team to implement project activities
  • Ensure project implementation adheres to the project strategy and remains technically sound
  • Communicate with FHI 360 HQ staff and consortium partners on a regular basis, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met and communicated clearly
  • Participate in consortium meetings, meeting with national stakeholders and community groups
  • Prepare reports and technical briefs summarising project results
  • Adapt strategies and tools for the design and implementation of specific project activities
  • Monitor the budget, ensuring accuracy and accountability
  • Develop and monitor work plans
  • Provide leadership and team building at project level
  • Network with key internal and external personnel
  • Determine methods and procedures on new projects and assignments
  • Serve as team lead and may supervise other lower-level personnel
  • Represent the project in Mozambique and liaise with FHI 360 country office leadership
  • Assign responsibility and accountability for tasks/decisions
  • Monitor process, progress and results
  • Create a climate in which people want to do their best

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or international equivalent in Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology and Youth or a related field
  • Project management certification preferred
  • Six years of experience managing data collection and providing technical assistance
  • Experience in a non-governmental organisation (NGO), government agency, or private organisation
  • Strong knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with implementing reproductive health and/or adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health projects
  • Experience with adapting and/or developing and delivering trainings in health care settings, preferably related to AYSRH
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills
  • Excellent and demonstrated programme/project management skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with others
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office application and online search tools
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data, identify errors and prepare reports
  • Ability to solve problem and implement corrective action, as needed
