Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Protection Team Leader (Community Based Protection).

DRC provides direct assistance to conflict-affected populations such as refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities in conflict areas.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of programme activities related to community outreach, assessment at individual/household level and information dissemination
  • Lead on community outreach by effectively identifying and coordinating with CBPNs, community mobilisers and other community focal points
  • Oversee all aspects of the relationship with community mobilisers and focal points
  • Lead on the conduct of intake assessments at individual and/or household level to identify protection issues, vulnerabilities and risks and needs for services
  • Ensure that comprehensive assessment reports for all individuals and/or households are submitted to the protection manager in a timely manner
  • Ensure that quality and accurate reports and supporting documentation on programme activities related to community outreach, assessment at individual/household level and information dissemination are submitted timely and on a daily basis to the protection manager and to the MEAL unit for review, verification, aggregation and analysis

Requirements

  • University degree in Social Sciences, Humanitarian Affairs, International Law, Development or any other related field
  • Two years, minimum, of professional experience in the field of humanitarian interventions, human rights or community development (preferably with an international humanitarian organisation)
  • One year, minimum, of experience in a managerial capacity, including staff management
  • Solid knowledge of the migration and displacement context in Sudan and of the protecting issues affecting migrants, refugees and IDPs
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively represent a humanitarian organisation with external partners and stakeholders
  • Skills in project management, including the planning and reporting of activities
  • Proven capacity to document, summarise and analyse information in a clear and systematic manner
