Apply: African UN Youth Delegates Programme 2024

The United Nations has opened applications for the African UN Youth Delegates Programme 2024.

The Youth Delegates Programme (Africa) seeks to increase the awareness and understanding of youth about regional and international platforms such as the United Nations or the African Union and their representation on these platforms.


  • Selected candidates will secure the opportunity to be youth fellows and have access to UN internships and outreach programmes
  • Fellows will also be invited to a national assessment workshop in Nairobi, together with 20 other UN Youth fellows from all over the country
  • Through workshops, fellows will be introduced to tasks and opportunities, preparing them to address the pressing issues of the youth both nationally and internationally
  • At the national assessment, two fellows will be selected to become this year’s UN Youth Delegates and will get the chance to represent the youth interests at the United Nations in New York and regionally in East Africa
  • Further, the two delegates will be invited to three regional workshops


  • Applicants must be interested and highly motivated young people who want to be UN Youth Delegates and UN Youth Fellows to represent the interests of the youth at both the national and international level
  • Young, highly motivated African youth between the ages of 18 and 32
  • Have a good command of the English Language (speaking, writing and listening)
  • Have access to a computer and the internet
  • Be committed to spending 2-3 hours a week during the 4-week online learning course
