ActionAid (AA) Nigeria is seeking the services of a Development Communication expert to develop communications products for the Women’s Voice and Leadership Nigeria (WVL-N) Project.
ActionAid is a global movement of people working together to further human rights for all and defeat poverty.
Responsibilities
- Improve management and sustainability of local women’s rights organisations in Nigeria
- Enhance delivery of programming and advocacy to advance gender equality by local women’s rights organisations in Nigeria
- Increase effectiveness of sub-national, national, and regional women’s rights platforms, networks, and alliances to affect policy, legal and social change in Nigeria
Requirements
- Five years, minimum, of experience in implementing communications for development projects and or programme interventions in both the humanitarian and development sector
- Five years, minimum, of experience in development of communications and visibility strategy and outcome documentation
- Bachelor/master’s degree in Mass Communication, Social Sciences, Arts/Humanities, or related field
- Excellent communication skills; oral, written, editing and presentation
- Good knowledge of facilitation techniques with the ability to plan, coordinate and instruct training sessions
- Considerable knowledge of visual and audio instructional aids and the ability to employ such devices effectively
- Evidence of having undertaken similar assignments in the past
- Availability within the period marked for the consultancy
- feminist, women’s rights defender and/or advocate (desirable)
