Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) says the death of Elyes Zine is a great loss not only for Tunisia but also for the EuroMed civil society.
The death of Zine, who served for many years as a coordinator with the Tunisian network, was announced by the foundation on 18 October.
But the cause of death was not disclosed by the organisation.
‘It is with great sadness that the Anna Lindh Foundation offers its condolences to the family and Tunisian ALF network for the passing of our dear colleague Elyes Zine’, Executive Director of ALF, Nabil Al-Sharif, wrote.
‘On behalf of myself and all staff members of the Anna Lindh Ssecretariat, I would like to extend my deep sympathies and condolences to the family and the entire Tunisian ALF network in these extremely difficult times.
‘I must say we were all utterly shocked and dismayed at the terrible human loss incurred and the excruciating pain that ensues.
‘The passing of Elyes is a great loss not only for Tunisia but also for the EuroMed civil society’.
