Togo: FAWE Teaches Covid-19 Prevention

The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) in Togo has carried out a Covid-19 sensitisation campaign aimed at reducing the spread of the contagion.

Development Diaries learnt that FAWE, supported by Community Health Workers (CHWs), trained teachers, students, and other residents of Est-Mono and Moyen-Mono.

The residents of the communities, it was gathered, were trained on how they could prevent themselves from contracting Covid-19.

In total, 2,160 people, including 1,060 women, were trained; and About 107 home-made handwashing stations were also installed in households with the help of CHWs.

Additionally, 20 secondary schools in Est-Mono and Moyen-Mono were equipped with materials – such as 500 protective masks, 200 bottles of liquid soap, and 94 handwashing devices – to help protect against Covid-19.
