The Gambia: ChildFund Donates Medical Supplies

ChildFund The Gambia has donated medical supplies to the country’s Ministry of Health to support the country’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is understood that the donation is part of ChildFund’s ‘Gift-in-Kind’ programme.

During the handover ceremony of the supplies, ChildFund Country Director, Musu Komma, said that the nonprofit had donated over five million dalasi to the most vulnerable families in the country.

‘3758 families have benefitted from our cash transfer programme channeled through community-based credit unions at the level of our three local partners and part of the LRR’, she said.

She noted that the medical supplies ChildFund ships into The Gambia are always given a seal of approval by the country’s Ministry of Health in line with set guidelines and approved standards.

‘Our relations with the Ministry of Health is a long standing one’, she said.

Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Babanding Sabally, assured that the items will be properly distributed.
