The African Union (AU) has announced a call for proposals for Innovating Education in Africa (IEA) 2022.
Through the IEA, the AU is looking to mobilise continental education innovators to rethink solutions that will help address education and skills development challenges in Africa, especially as countries emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Benefits
- Receive grants of up to U.S.$100,000 to strengthen the interoperability of innovations with public education systems while collecting evidence on the effectiveness
- Promotion of innovation, including publication in the Africa Education Innovations Handbook 2022
- Certificate of recognition from the Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of the AU
Eligibility
- Applicant must have successfully implemented an education innovation in one or more AU member states with verifiable outcomes
- Entity must be legally registered and licenced to operate in an AU member state
- Applicant must have been directly responsible for implementing and managing innovation, i.e., not acting as an intermediary
