Last week, we called on Change Reporting Media Fellows to foster public awareness and influence positive policy changes by bringing girl education issues to the forefront. Change Reporting: Advocating Gender-Responsive Education Planning in Nigeria

Accurate and empathetic reporting on gender-responsive education sector planning (GRESP) is crucial to ensuring that the peculiar needs of both boys and girls are addressed in Nigeria. ImpactHouse and the System Strategy and Policy Lab (SSPL) recently conducted a two-day capacity building programme on GRESP for 27 journalists.

Mozambique: Use of Classrooms as Military Camps Unacceptable

The use of classrooms as military camps by the military in Mozambique is an unacceptable action that undermines the fundamental right to education for countless children. The Mozambican military must immediately cease using schools for military purposes and to respect international laws and conventions that safeguard educational institutions in conflict zones. Sudan: Urgent Action Needed to Address Hunger

About three in every four children in Sudan are now facing catastrophic levels of hunger which could deteriorate further if immediate action is not taken. The warring parties in Sudan must allow humanitarian organisations unimpeded access to civilians as it will help arrest the worsening hunger situation in the country.

Also, parties to the conflict should resolve their differences and come to peaceful terms for the betterment of the people and development of the country. Read more
