Many Nigerians have taken to social media platforms, especially Twitter, to react to the news of witches and wizards calling for prayers for President-Elect Bola Tinubu.
Development Diaries reports that the White Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria on Monday called on Nigerians to support Tinubu with their prayers as he prepares to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari on 29 May.
In a statement, spokesperson of the association, Okhue Obo, assured the former Lagos State governor of their efforts to ‘cleanse’ and ‘detoxify’ the Abuja environment ahead of his inauguration.
The witches did not stop there.
Obo, who claimed that Tinubu won their ‘spiritual presidential election’, warned against any attempts by disgruntled politicians to disrupt Tinubu’s inauguration.
‘We welcome Tinubu back to the country. Recall that Tinubu emerged the winner at our group’s spiritual presidential election held about two months ago before the terrestrial February 25 presidential election’, the statement read.
‘There is no reason for Tinubu to be afraid because all the campaigns of calumny mounted against him are mere distractions. We are currently cleaning and detoxifying the Abuja environment where Tinubu will operate from’, it added.
‘What Tinubu needs now is prayers of good health and long life from all Nigerians so he could deliver on his Renewed Hope promise for better life for all’.
Meanwhile, many Nigerians, as expected, have responded to the news with hilarious posts and comments.
So Witches and Wizards endorse Tinubu’s inauguration, ask Nigerians to pray for him – Vanguard 🤣🤣🤣🤣

A Twitter user even asked the witches and wizards to make a video of themselves calling for prayers.

The call for prayers for Tinubu, and indeed any Nigerian leader, is not out of place. However, why haven’t the witches and wizards called for national prayers over Nigeria’s numerous challenges, including poor economy and security?
For instance, where were the witches and wizards when Nigerians were faced with hardship caused by the scarcity of redesigned naira notes? Or were they using ‘spiritual naira’?
Where were the witches and wizards when terrorists, kidnappers and other criminal elements were rampaging some communities and towns across the country? Or were they hiding somewhere in the sky?
Are the witches and wizards not aware that over 20 million Nigerian children are currently out of school? Perhaps, their children are somewhere in the ‘spirit world’ learning.
The witches and wizards should ‘pray’ for the entire country, not an individual.
