Pastor Enoch Adeboye of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) recently called on President-Elect Bola Tinubu to ensure he fulfils his campaign promises to Nigerians.
Development Diaries reports that the revered clergyman made the call during a monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
Represented by Pastor Dele Balogun, the RCCG leader said that there could not be a better time for Nigerians to experience their own set time of the country than now after many years of suffering and enslavement.
‘Let us pray for the incoming government that God will support it and give it the grace to do the right thing’, he said.
‘Thank God the president-elect has promised to fix Nigeria. If God helps him, Nigeria will prosper in his hands’.
While many Nigerians on social media have reacted in different ways to the clergyman’s call, it is important not to overlook the specific issues.
Tinubu, during his presidential campaign, released an 80-page policy document that highlighted an eight-point agenda.
The former governor said his administration would foster a new society based on shared prosperity, tolerance, compassion, and the unwavering commitment to treating each citizen with equal respect and due regard.
Tinubu promised to make basic health care, education, and housing accessible and affordable for all Nigerians.
He also promised to boost agriculture by continuing to assist farmers through enlightened agricultural policy that promotes productivity and assures decent incomes.
Tunubu also promised to modernise and expand public infrastructure, support young people and women by harnessing emerging sectors such as the digital economy, entertainment and culture, as well as tourism.
Therefore, Pastor Adeboye’s call on the incoming president to fulfil his promises to Nigerians is in order as many elected officeholders fail to deliver on their promises and, unfortunately, get away with it.
Development Diaries calls on citizens to ensure they monitor the delivery of the campaign promises of the country’s incoming president, governors and other elected leaders.
