Sense about Science has announced a call for nominations for the 2021 John Maddox Prize.
According to the Sense about Science announcement, the John Maddox Prize recognises the work of an individual to promote sound science and evidence on a matter of public interest, facing difficulty or hostility in doing so.
The prize advocates the value of an open and honest environment for societies to discuss scientific evidence.

- Winner of the John Maddox Prize receives £3,000
Eligibility
- Open to people from any country and in any field
- Staff, trustees and directors of the partnering organisations, previous winners and previous or current members of the judging panel and their direct relations are not eligible for nomination for the prize, though they may nominate
- It is open to anyone else, including those commended or nominated in previous years and people who have published with or worked with partnering organisations as contributors, advisors or in other collaborations
- Nominations and supporting references must be submitted in English
