MAN laments sector decline in performance, high inflation, firms’ exit – The Guardian

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has decried the decline in the growth of the manufacturing sector as revealed in the third quarter GDP report of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The President Tinubu-led government should review and reform its economic policies to address the challenges crippling Nigeria’s manufacturing sector. A decisive focus on implementing pro-business policies, stabilising the naira, reducing energy costs, and improving infrastructure is critical to reversing the sector’s decline.

Tax reform bills not to impoverish North – Presidency – Daily Trust

The Presidency has dismissed claims that the proposed tax reform bills before the National Assembly would impoverish northern Nigeria or disproportionately benefit Lagos and Rivers states.

We call on President Tinubu to ensure that the proposed tax reform bills are inclusive and equitable, considering their overall impact on national cohesion and the sustainability of all regions. It is crucial to prioritise transparency and engage in widespread public sensitisation to address citizens’ concerns and secure their buy-in for these policy changes.
