Villagers flee as gunmen kill many in Benue – Daily Trust
Residents of several villages in Katsina-Ala and Logo local government areas of Benue State yesterday fled their homes after gunmen killed many persons during a raid. Sources in the affected communities said at least 30 people were gunned down and many others injured.
The federal and Benue State governments must urgently fulfil their constitutional mandate under Section 14(2)(b) of the 1999 Constitution, which prioritises the security and welfare of citizens, by deploying adequate security forces to Katsina-Ala and Logo LGAs to protect lives and property. Immediate action is needed to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators of these heinous attacks, while implementing long-term measures to prevent further violence, ensure justice for victims, and restore peace to these communities.
FG to NASS: We borrowed based on your approvals – Vanguard

We urge the legislature to critically evaluate and approve loans only when absolutely necessary, ensuring they are tied to projects with clear economic benefits.
Also, we call on the executive to increase efforts to diversify revenue sources, improve transparency in expenditure, and invest in sectors that drive sustainable development.
