Nigeria: Rotary Club Provides Water Succour

Rotary Club of Satellite Town Lagos, Nigeria, has provided potable water to the residents of Ibasa/Ijegun Agboyojoye community.

Oba Afeez Oriyomi Shittu of Ijegun/Egba, the club’s District Governor, Bola Oyemade, and the Rotary President of Satellite Town, Jones Olomu, commissioned the project.

Commissioning the project, Oyemade said that what Rotary did was simply give opportunity to less-fortunate people to have potable water in their community.

‘Most communities in Lagos and Ogun State have been benefitting in various aspect, not only water and sanitation, but also in basic education, some in child and maternal care and in many other activities’, he said.

The Rotary chief, who is supervising the work of the humanitarian organisation in Lagos and Ogun, said the Rotary Club of Satellite Town will visit the borehole water regularly to ensure it is in a good condition.

The tradition ruler in the area, Oba Shittu, commended the club, saying, ‘I cannot do without thanking my good friend, Mr Joe Vincent, who has deemed it fit to recognise me and the good people of lbasa land to bring this project’.
