Nigeria: DII Reveals How to Create 18 Million Jobs

Dayspring Intelligence International (DII) has sought the partnership of the government of Nigeria to create 18 million information communication technology (ICT) jobs for youths across the country.

This was disclosed by the DII founder, Adekunle Daniel, while speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Development Diaries understands that Nigeria’s unemployment rate in the second quarter of 2020 stands at 27.1 percent, indicating that about 21,764,614 Nigerians remain unemployed, according to recent data from National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

‘Therefore, we are here to provide the federal government with recommendations on a newly designed revenue generation scheme and to also request its partnership to create 18 million Nigeria ICT jobs across the 774 local government areas which we have designed’, Daniel said.

‘Basically, this revenue generation scheme, by design, would be generating 720 billion naira annually for us as a nation, which could be used in the payment of salaries of the 18million jobs to be created.

‘The EndSARS protest has provided us with a picture of the youth’s annoyance for the unavailability of employment in the nation’.

Daniel gave the assurance that the jobs, if created, would complement the primary purpose of governance as stated in Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution.

He also said that the jobs would provide solutions to numerous social problems, improve national security, reduce the financial resources needed to fight crime, and promote citizen’s welfare and national cohesion.
