The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (CentreLSD) has commenced the establishment and inauguration of a Community Network of Men Leaders to End Violence against Women and Girls in Cross River State, Nigeria.

The initiative to end Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) was rolled out in Calabar South, Calabar Municipal and Obanliku local government areas of Cross River. The process involved the training of members of the network, which is part of the activities lined up for the implementation of the Male Engagement component of the Spotlight Initiative Project in Cross River. The network will serve as an advocacy platform to promote gender-equitable norms, attitudes and behaviour at community level. Traditional leaders, religious leaders, youth groups and the Nigeria Police all make up the network.
