Learning Square Liberia (LSL), a non-governmental and non-profit organisation with a vision of providing access to education for every youth across Liberia, has cheered up 12 teenage mothers by donating two cartons of baby clothes to them.
Development Diaries learnt that while presenting the cloths to the teenage mothers in Cape Mount, the Country Manager of the organisation, Alvin Freeman, said, ‘We are committed to preparing [the] youth to succeed personally and professionally. We envision a Liberia where all citizens are active, empowered, and engaged in collectively contributing to a vibrant democracy’.
He also said that Learning Square Liberia was cognisant of the constraints and difficulties the girls were facing as a result of teenage pregnancy, adding that the donation received by the young mothers came from donors.
It was noted that Learning Square Liberia had undertaken a series of projects including the Educational Support Initiative that provides educational and professional development opportunities for the youth in the West African country.
