A group of human rights defenders in Gbarnga, Bong County, has asked the government of Liberia to transfer the Assistant Superintendent of Police serving in the area.
The group claimed that the police official, Fedrick Nepay, was promoting selective justice.
Speaking on behalf of DELTA-Human Rights Foundation, the Foundation for International Dignity, Justice and Peace Commission and CJPS-Liberia, Jessic Cole said Nepay had overstayed as police commissioner.
As for the Executive Director of Foundation for International Dignity, Aaron Juahkollie, he said Nepay had contributed immensely to the security of Bong County and Liberia at large, but he thought his relationship with community dwellers was hindering his professional work.
Juahkollie also urged the judicial branch of government to respond to the plight of Archie Ponpon who recently set himself ablaze due to unpaid salaries.
