Ghana: ADB Provides Fund for GJA Awards

Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has presented GH¢100,000 cheque to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) to support the 25th GJA Media Awards.

ADB, Development Diaries understands, is a financial institution in Ghana with an agricultural development focus.

Managing Director of the bank, Dr John Kofi Mensah, according to a statement issued by the bank, said that the donation was part of ADB’s custom.

Mensah said that the relationship between ADB and GJA had blossomed since 2017.

He expressed gratitude to the national executive of the GJA for its acceptance to include an award category for the Best Reporter (Agriculture), which is sponsored by the bank, and for honouring him at the 24th GJA Media Awards ceremony in 2019.

He further commended Ghanaian journalists for doing a great job in helping to reduce the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

President of GJA, Affail Monney, thanked the bank for providing the fund despite the difficult circumstances occasioned by Covid-19 and crisis in the banking sector.
