United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), in partnership with the government of Equatorial Guinea, has announced a call for International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences entries.

The UNESCO–Equatorial Guinea prize is designed to reward projects and activities of an individual, individuals, institutions, or non-governmental organisations assisting scientific research in the life sciences

The prize was established by UNESCO’s executive board to support the achievement 2030 Agenda for sustainable development as well as UNESCO’s global priorities included in the medium-term strategy 2014-2021.

Benefits

  • Monetary award of $350,000, divided equally among laureates, to help further their studies
  • Certificate and the ‘Integracion Tribal’ statuette by Equatorial Guinean artist Leandro Mbomio

Eligibility

  • Open to individual(s) or institutions endorsed by either member states in consultation with their national commissions or non-governmental organisations in official partnership with UNESCO active in a field covered by the prize
  • Self-nominations will not be considered
