Enter: IOM Migration Journalism Competition

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has announced a call for participation in the West and Central Africa Migration Journalism Competition.

The competition seeks to foster quality reporting on migration subject matters, including environmental migration, migrant reintegration, awareness raising about irregular migration and alternatives to irregular migration in the regions.

Benefits

  • Eight winners will receive up to U.S. $1,250 each
  • The overall winner of the competition will additionally receive a plaque of recognition and will be invited to a virtual award ceremony

Eligibility

  • Participants must be 18 years old and older at the time the entry was published
  • Only nationals from a country in West and Central Africa can participate
  • Journalists or students in journalism schools officially accredited by one of the countries may participate
