The Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA), in partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB), has announced a call for participation in the Youth Adaptation Solutions (YouthADAPT) Challenge.
Young people worldwide are leading the way in demanding climate action. Whether in communities, in their places of study or directly lobbying politicians and businesses, they are fighting for their futures.
The GCA and the AfDB aim to accelerate climate adaptation action under the African Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP).
With the challenge, the AAAP will inspire and support the commercialisation of climate change adaptation solutions driven by the entrepreneurial drive of African Youth entrepreneurs in Africa.
Benefits
- Business grant of up to $100,000
- Opportunity to scale and fully commercialise businesses
Eligibility
- Business must be led by a youth
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Business must be delivering climate adaptation or resilience solutions addressing real-life challenges
- Business must be legally registered and operating in Africa
- Applicant must show business revenues for at least two years
