YouLead has announced a call for participation in the 2021 AfCFTA Youth Continental Essay Competition.
The competition is aimed at amplifying continental mobilisation, awareness, engagement, and participation of young Africans in the popularisation and implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA).
Themed ‘How can Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs and Innovators Make the AfCFTA “Magic” Happen?, the competition, according to YouLead, will harness the energy, creativity and initiative of Africa’s youths in promoting the AfCFTA, as well as inspire policymakers and society as a whole towards action.
Benefits
- Top five essay participants (one per sub-theme) will have an opportunity to attend the continental Young Leaders and Policy Makers Summer School (boot camp) in Arusha, Tanzania
Eligibility
- The essay should be submitted by an African youth between the ages of 18 and 35
- Entrant must be a citizen of any of the 55 member states of the African Union, or an African youth residing in the diaspora
- Essays must be original and unpublished
- Copyright of the essays entered will be assigned to the organiser, with recognition given to the writer
