As we all get older and celebrate with friends, family and well-wishers, we tend to look around us and ask ourselves if the world around us is getting better as we get older.
Sometimes we find ourselves asking questions with unending answers, or asking questions we cannot find the right answers for yet. Other times, we ask questions that motivate us to fight for better outcomes.
The Executive Director of Women Empowerment and Reproductive Health Centre (WERHC), Ejiro Otive-Igbuzor, celebrated the addition of another year to her years on 04 June. She took to her Facebook page where she was met with good wishes from friends and family.
She, however, wrote, ’It is my birthday! I should scream and dance but I went to bed feeling depressed because of the recent happenings in Naija…the violation of our girls. Let’s join our voices to the call for justice…someone must pay! We demand an end to arbitrariness and impunity. We demand an end to sexual and gender-based violence. The safety and security of our gals must be guaranteed. I am grateful to the Lord for sparing my life’.
