The African Development Forum 2024, an event of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD), is designed to focus on innovative new strategies for development in Africa in the framework of the current transitions and challenges.

Over the past years, significant effort has been put into Africa’s development on multiple fronts, ranging from economic growth to social and political stabilisation. This determination has seen credible results and promoted Africa’s stance in the international arena.

The forum will highlight best practices of countries in Africa for implementing successful development strategies, and it aims to create new initiatives that will strengthen African development in specific countries and for the continent as a whole.

The three-day event is expected to also address contemporary issues facing Africa regionally and internationally, offering insightful discussion and debates on diverse themes.

Among others, the forum will focus on topics such as sustainable tourism, sustainable investments, cultural diplomacy and nation branding being used as a development tool for attracting investment to Africa, China’s role in the future development, the issues of foreign aid, African Diaspora and their potential for uniting and mobilising for the future of Africa, the potential for renewable energies in Africa, and the future of African regional and international integration.

Speakers will include leading politicians, senior diplomats, governmental officials, senior academics, journalists, and celebrated artistes.
