The first annual Africa Gender Equality Conference is expected to bring together over 3,000 participants from governments, civil society, academia, gender equality advocates and activists.

It is generally aimed at celebrating strides made in advancing gender equality and discussing solutions to emerging barriers and challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The conference will present new knowledge, promote truly African solutions, and engage a broad spectrum of voices.

The conference is designed to celebrate progress made towards attaining gender parity, as well as people and organisations championing gender equality.

Also, it will address existing inequalities exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, and chart new pathways to attaining gender equal societies that are resilient to future crises.

The conference will feature keynote addresses, high level panels, skills building workshops, side events and satellite events, concert, and film screening.
