Yiaga Africa is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of HR and Administration Officer.
Yiaga Africa is a nonprofit, civic hub of changemakers committed to the promotion of democratic governance, human rights and civic engagement.
Responsibilities
- Maintain physical and digital personnel records like employment contracts and PTO requests
- Update internal databases with new hire information
- Create and distribute guidelines and FAQ documents about company policies
- Gather payroll data like bank accounts and working days
- Publish and remove job ads
- Schedule job interviews and contact candidates, as needed
- Prepare reports and presentations on HR-related metrics like the total number of hires by department
- Develop training and onboarding material
- Respond to employees’ questions about benefits (for example, the number of vacation days they are eligible for)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Management
- Three years, minimum, of work experience as an HR administrative or a similar role
- Membership of CIPM is an added advantage
- Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Proficiency in payroll administration
- Knowledge of labour legislation (e.g., organisational health and safety, employee benefits, etc.)
