YouthHubAfrica (YHA) is seeking to fill the role of Programs Assistant on Education
YHA is an online community that seeks to create a platform for young people in Africa involved in social change to interact, learn and collaborate in new ways.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the programmes officer on education and the programmes manager
  • Write grant-winning proposals
  • Assist in direct management and coordination of YHA project activities in line with project implementation plan on Education and Girl-Child Literacy
  • Write reports on completed projects
  • Develop and monitor project tasks and activities with project goals in line with approved work plans and standards for high quality
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements in the implementation of projects
  • Undertake other activities as assigned by the programme manager and the executive director

Requirements

  • Degree in Education, Social Sciences or a related field from a reputable school (master’s degree will be an added advantage)
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Demonstrated willingness to work in a team
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Experience in an NGO will be an added advantage
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis
  • High degree of independence, creativity and commitment
  • Strong analytic and communication skills
  • Ability to write clearly and succinctly under time pressure, and to make well-organised verbal presentations
  • Ability to deliver under high pressure of work
  • Passion for education and girl-child development
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
