World Vision (WV) International is seeking to fill the role of Humanitarian Emergencies and Cash Coordination Manager.
The mission of WV includes working with the poor and people who are oppressed as it promotes human transformation.
Responsibilities
- Develop WV South Sudan response business plans and ensure proper alignment with the national office strategies
- Develop and implement WV South Sudan (WVSS) HEA capacity-building plan and ensure National Disaster Management Team (NDMT) committee members are functional and have updated ToRs
- Provide technical support and oversight to the disaster preparedness planning initiatives
- Ensure at all times WV South Sudan maintains minimum capabilities to respond to community needs
- Contribute to the development of project proposals for the opportunities offered by donors to support humanitarian interventions and DRR
- Lead key assessments, including rapid and departmental assessment and preparation
- Lead the establishment and operation of the WV South Sudan national disaster management team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Management, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field
- Field-based international NGO work experience in humanitarian emergency affairs and cash assistance programme leadership, with five years, minimum, of total development and emergency experience in food logistics in a fragile or challenging and complex context with responsibility of overseeing comprehensive food security programmes
- Experience in working camps for refugees or internally displaced people will be an added advantage
- Proven strong cash-based programming background
- Sound knowledge of humanitarian international standards, policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments, and physical hardship conditions with limited resources
- Ability to work in high tension and high security risk situations and be able to adapt to rapidly changing contexts
- Strong English communication skills (both oral and written)
- Positive collaboration and facilitation skills including the ability to train and supervise a multi-cultural team
- Ability to manage complex partnership relationships including effective coordination with host country government
- Good cross-cultural communication skills
- Willingness to spend at least 30 percent of the time in the field visiting projects sometimes under difficult living conditions
- Demonstrated understanding of humanitarian response principles, guidelines and policies
- Good understanding of the theory and principles of development
- Good understanding of child protection standards
- Knowledge of the main current debates on the effectiveness of disaster preparedness and methods
- Good understanding of Christian principles demonstrated by a personal expression of the faith
- Written and verbal English proficiency
