World Vision International is seeking to fill the role of Senior Programme Officer.

The mission of World Vision International includes working with the poor and people who are oppressed as it promotes human transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify institutional funders and funding opportunities and lead the process of developing concept notes and preparing project proposals for major funders
  • Develop and improve donor relationships over time to improve chances of success and develop actions to increase and retain donors/sponsors to increase financial resources
  • Maintain ongoing and timely communication with the support offices
  • Facilitate business plan development for grant acquisition with operations, strategy and DME, technical and emergency relief teams
  • Assist the director in charge of resource development by representing the organisation in Mali and in networking with the consortium of humanitarian organisations, multilateral and bilateral agencies and international NGOs, the consortium of NGOs, and local donor delegations and in forums
  • Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, including communities, government, donors, UN agencies, and NGOs
  • Promote the development of alliances and strategic relationships with other NGOs, UN agencies, and other bilateral and multilateral agencies through reporting and information exchange and learning
  • Participate in internal and/or interagency evaluations, in working groups, workshops, etc
  • Share the organisation’s communications in a comprehensive manner, covering donor dimensions, press releases, advocacy, emergency, and internal communication
  • Provide advice and technical assistance to the various units of the organisation for the development of communication initiatives and the production of materials for communication, with technical quality and strategic orientation
  • Maintain the profile of grants and private funds on Horizon and ensure the delivery and recovery of grants acquired with the departments concerned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Humanitarian Affairs, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Three years, minimum, of experience in developing projects and budgets
  • Three years, minimum, of experience working with international NGOs
  • Good knowledge of the main donors and their standards
  • Good knowledge of programme design, monitoring, and evaluation practices
  • Good knowledge of operations, emergency relief, and advocacy
  • Good command of written and oral French
  • Good command of written and oral English
